It’s a Two-Fer!

Published March 10, 2014 by Tritrigirl

I’m catching up on my blogs from this weekend and I must say y’all have been busy!

As I’ve stated before I’m rarely on my computer over the weekend (which is incredibly foreign to some people) but I’ve found that I really need the break.  Anything I need to look up I go through on my handy-dandy sometimes smart and sometimes stupid phone.  So blogging and blogs and sometimes even FB aren’t reviewed.  Needless to say, at times, I miss a lot.

Since my Monday challenges came out prior to me getting through my blog readings we’ll have a Two-Fer!

Starting in chronological order:

Cee’s Photography – Share Your World – Week 10:

This lady has some amazing photos, you should check it out.  Her springtime flowers make me happy!

Describe yourself in a word that starts with the first letter of your name.

S – Stupendous…or maybe Stubborn.  Yes, both.

If 100 people your age were chosen at random, how many do you think you’d find leading a more satisfying life than yours?

Well, I’m from that weird generation that started the quarter life crisis and given the number of people I know who are my age and divorced or never been married single parents or on to marriage #2 (which is a good / bad thing depending) I’d go for probably 50%.  I’m pretty content with my life for the most part and while I don’t fit into the social norm for a 35-year-old I’m definitely okay with that.

If you were a tree, would you become a book or furniture? Please describe.

I would become that hand me down, sturdily built, awesome coffee table.  I love to be in the center but not the center of attention.  I think it’s fun to observe and catch bits and pieces of conversations and to be a part of people’s lives.  My coffee table is a hand me down from my aunt to my mom to me.  I’m sure it has some stories to tell if it could.  PS – wouldn’t replace it for all the world!

You are trapped in an elevator, who would you want to be trapped with?

Joss Wedon or Nate Fillion or Graham Norton.  I’m gonna be all fan-girl-ish with the first two.  Besides Mr. Fillion gives some of the best interviews ever!  And Graham Norton…well, you’re just missing out (on Matt Damon, Bill Murray and Hugh Bonneville over-imbibing on the show).  He’s had an incredible cast of people on his show and again…stories!

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Last week – Got to spend a little time with my Granny, Auntie, Uncle and cousins on Saturday.  Made it through the week unscathed and have managed to catch up on some badly needed sleep.  Plus lunch with best friend and her little monkey.

This week – At least 1 SXSW shindig (cause that’s all I can handle) and much needed alone time followed by UFC / beer tasting party on Saturday with good friends!

And #2…Jam On

Steve’s Monday Music Mix:

You know the drill, but just in case:

“Each week I will post 3 new questions so…

(1) Go to the music player of your choice and put it on shuffle
(2) Say the questions aloud and press play
(3) Use the song title as your answers
(4) NO CHEATING

Title your post “Steve’s Music Mix – …” and link back to this week’s page.

Post your response in the comment section of that week’s page.”  So with excitement and trepidation we shuffle the media player a couple times and forward once because the last song from Friday might be cheating…

If I was sucked into a jukebox and turned into a song then the song would be…?

Disease (acoustic version) – Matchbox 20.

Comments: Well, I never!  A repeat from last week.  Although that being said, this version turns the disco-ish song into a sultry, slower song with just the guitar and Rob Thomas.  Sigh.  I’ll take it.

If I was sucked into a television then my tv show would be about…?

Treasure – Flyleaf

Comments: This band in actually a Christian metal group and I don’t typically listen to Christian music but I love this chick’s voice and I feel some of the lyrics are universal.  So, Treasure.  God’s treasure in this case but in my mind the TV show would be about a princess in a mythical / fairy tale world.  A mix between Once Upon a Time and Stardust.  I would watch it…but I think Starz would have to make it.

If I was sucked into a movie theater screen then my movie would be about…?

Shake it Out – Florence and the Machine

Comments: A movie about a mid-30’s single gal shaking off the old and looking towards the new.  Getting out and moving on.  Learning how to navigate the terrain of life and learning to become more optimistic.  Going to knitting groups at the local pub, attending impossible yoga classes and half-assed training for triathlons.  With her trusty sidekicks – a sweet Blue Heeler boy named Oreo and a cantankerous old man tabby cat named Cheetoh.  Accidentally named after snack foods.  This song would totally be in the trailer.

  • So glad to hear 35-year-olds still like to spend time with their Grannys since my granddaughter is only 7 and already I’m mourning her hurling out into the world beyond Mima’s arms !
